Caliper measuring device
A Vollmer caliper measuring device could form part of the upgrade to facilitate a fully automated CNC grinding package. The caliper is designed in such a way that makes it possible to grind all kind off rolls even in their chocks. A side-shift for the caliper could be integrated to prevent collision with the chocks. The Lismar LGC6011 grinder control controls the caliper directly and also receives the measuring data directly from its scales. The 3-point measuring system allows the grinder control to obtain a 3D-position of the roll on the machine. The caliper is then used during the grinding routine to optimize the grinding process and a geometrically accurate roll.
